I first discovered Dr. Ci:Labo through a Japanese beauty YouTuber I’ve followed for nearly two years. She once showcased a specific product and praised this Japanese brand extensively. So, during a trip to a local drugstore in November 2020, I was excited to purchase the Super White 377VC Lotion, as well as their renowned moisturizer (stay tuned for my detailed review on that). After using this lotion consistently for about two months, here’s my honest review.
FEATURES
- A toner that contains beauty essence ingredients that promote moisture and transparency (whitening).
- Contains 3 types of moisturizing ingredients: hydrolyzed collagen, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, and hydrolyzed elastin.
- Brightens dark spots caused by UV rays.
- Recommended for dull, rough, dry skin.
HOW TO USE
After washing your face and conditioning your skin, take an appropriate amount (500 yen coin size) and spread it over your entire face. Tap for further absorption. Best used without cotton.
PROS
- Fragrance-free, color-free, mineral oil-free, paraben-free, and alcohol-free.
- It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin.
- I appreciate its watery consistency which allows for rapid absorption into my skin.
- Once absorbed into my skin, it doesn’t give me a sticky feeling.
- To my surprise, the dark spots on my forehead appear to have lightened. Refer to the image below.
CONS
- The winter season has intensified the dryness of my skin and I find that this toner isn’t providing sufficient moisture. I’ve turned to another product to address this concern (stay tuned for my detailed review).
- It’s certainly on the pricier side.
- After nearly two months, I haven’t observed significant overall facial whitening effects.
After I use up this bottle, I’ll decide if I’ll buy it again or try a cheaper one. If this gets a discount, I’ll buy it again to see if it can get rid of my dark spots which to its credit have already lightened a bit. If you don’t mind the price, I say try it.
