Review: Suisai Beauty Clear Powder Wash N

Kanebo Cosmetics, a household name in Japan, is the esteemed creator of a renowned drugstore enzyme-infused powder cleanser. Suisai Beauty Clear Powder Wash N is the latest addition to their 57-year legacy of pioneering enzyme-based facial washes. The accolades it has garnered recently are truly noteworthy – it was named the Best Face Wash of 2020 by @cosme, Japan’s premier cosmetics and beauty platform.

The buzz around this product piqued my curiosity, compelling me to delve deeper. If Suisai Beauty Clear Powder Wash N has caught your attention, and you’re contemplating giving it a whirl, this in-depth review is just the guidance you need to make an informed decision.

Just a month ago, I managed to visit a drugstore that stocks the sought-after Suisai Beauty Clear Powder Wash N. Unfortunately, it wasn’t available in my local drugstore, leading me to purchase the regular size as opposed to the trial kit I initially aimed for. Yesterday, I used the final cube from the pack which places me in a perfect position to provide a comprehensive review based on my personal experience.

FEATURES

  1. The reformulated Suisai Beauty Clear Powder Wash N features two notable additions to its ingredient list: Ethyl Glucoside, which serves as a skin-conditioning agent and Sodium Hyaluronate, known to boost the skin’s innate suppleness.
  2. Moreover, this cleanser is enriched with amino acid-based cleansing components. These ingredients strike a careful balance – they cleanse effectively while safeguarding the skin’s natural moisture, leaving it hydrated even after washing.
  3. Among its other impressive benefits, this product is adept at eliminating blackheads and keratotic plugs (also known as skin bumps), contributing to a smoother complexion.
  4. Furthermore, it is proficient at evening out skin roughness, promoting an overall texture that is smooth and soft to the touch.
  5. Regular size: 32 capsules / Trial size: 15 capsules

How to use Suisai Beauty Clear Powder Wash N

Before you begin, ensure both your face and hands are damp. Dispense the contents of a single portion (one capsule) of the powder onto your palm. Gradually add a small quantity of cold or lukewarm water, working it into a lather. Apply this foamy mixture onto your skin, using gentle massaging motions. Rinse thoroughly when done. For optimal results, incorporate this cleansing routine into your skincare regimen twice a day.

PROS

  1. The packaging of the Suisai Beauty Clear Powder Wash N extends beyond mere aesthetics and novelty; it’s meticulously engineered to maintain enzyme stability. This is thanks to Kanebo’s innovative technology that silk-coats enzymes, a concept inspired by their silk processing expertise. Given that enzymes lose activity under conditions of high humidity and temperature, stabilizing them is critical to ensure long-term efficacy. This ingenious design is a testament to such stabilization efforts.
  2. This product is also fragrance-free, making it a suitable choice for those who prefer unscented skincare.
  3. Creates a luxurious lather using just your hands is an effortless task with this powder cleanser.
  4. Upon use, my skin feels immaculately clean, devoid of any uncomfortable tightness or itchiness often associated with intense cleansing.
  5. Moreover, I’ve observed no acne breakouts since I started using this product, attesting to its non-comedogenic nature.
  6. Its compact and robust packaging makes it an ideal travel companion, taking the hassle out of maintaining a proper skincare routine on the go.
  7. I’ve also noticed a subtle improvement in my skin’s texture. It feels a tad less rough than before. However, full transparency warrants me to mention that this observation could be attributed to my overall skincare regime and not this cleanser alone. It’s hard to single out the exact product behind this improvement; it could be solely due to the Suisai cleanser, a combination of my other skincare products, or even a cumulative effect of all of them. Regardless, I can confidently state that this cleanser performs excellently when it comes to purifying my face.

CONS

  1. Indeed, for a product of its size sourced from a drugstore, the Suisai Beauty Clear Powder Wash N leans towards the higher end of the price spectrum.
  2. Despite its many merits, I found that this product fell a bit short in terms of blackhead removal. I’ve been diligently using it twice a day for roughly 15 days, and my blackheads, particularly around my nose area, have remained quite visible. Here’s a photograph for reference. While I’ve endeavored to capture the details as accurately as possible, I apologize if the image quality is less than optimal.

It’s possible that with sustained use, more visible results in the realm of blackhead reduction could be realized. However, I plan to reserve this product for travel purposes only and have switched to another cleanser from the same brand for daily use. Be sure to stay tuned for my upcoming review on that.

If the price tag doesn’t deter you and you’re intrigued by this adorable yet innovative cleanser, I encourage you to try it out. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this unique Japanese beauty invention. What’s your take on it?

  1. So much plastic waste! I wish more companies would consider plastic waste when designing products. It’s frustrating when a product works, but has so much plastic on it that you can’t reuse.
