The skin whitening supplement I’m talking about today is produced by SSP, the same Japanese company that makes my preferred painkiller. Interested in knowing how well it works? Continue reading.
I purchased my first bottle of Hythiol-C Whitea last month and used it all within 30 days.
FEATURES
- This supplement effectively treats and prevents freckles, age spots, sunburn, acne, eczema, rashes, general malaise and hangover.
- Contains L-Cysteine, an antioxidant that suppresses the production of excessive melanin to prevent blemishes and make your skin clear.
- Contains vitamin C that suppresses excessive melanin production and improves spots and freckles.
- Contains the most significant amount of calcium pantothenate (vitamin B5) which promotes the skin cell turnover and supports the recovery of the skin.
- Contents: 120 tablets (for 30 days), Price: 4,500 yen excluding tax
- Made in Japan
DOSAGE:
Take the following dose TWICE DAILY with water or lukewarm water.
Age | Adult (15 years old and over) | 7-14 years old |
---|---|---|
1 dose | 2 tablets | 1 tablet |
Not suitable for under 7 years old
COMPONENT:
In 4 tablets (2 tablets morning and night, daily for adults)
Component | Quantity |
---|---|
L-Cysteine | 240mg |
Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) | 500mg |
Calcium pantothenate | 30mg |
PROS
- The tablet’s size is quite small, making it easy to swallow. Therefore, taking 4 tablets every day (morning and evening) isn’t an issue for me.
- The daily amount of vitamin C for adults (500mg) doesn’t exceed the recommended dosage which is up to 1000mg. The same goes for L-Cysteine (240mg) which is typically 500mg a day.
- You can take it before or after meals. But if you have a very sensitive stomach, the company recommends after meals.
- It’s okay to take it during pregnancy, but it’s essential to refrain from taking medications during pregnancy unless you need them, and it’s a good idea to tell your doctor that you’re taking them.
- Safe for breastfeeding women but you still have to inform your doctor about it.
- This supplement isn’t solely aimed at skin whitening; it also aids in alleviating fatigue and hangovers. Roughly three weeks after starting to take it, I noticed I felt less weary, even after engaging in a non-stop 3-hour walk with my dog. Before the pandemic, our typical routine included walking for at least an hour, 2 or 3 times a day, with breaks in between. But this new extended walking schedule can be quite draining. Regarding its effects on hangovers, I can’t comment, as I no longer consume alcohol. I’m proud to share that I’ve maintained sobriety for many years.
CONS
- The daily intake of calcium pantothenate for adults is 30mg, a quantity that exceeds the recommended 5mg. Consuming these larger amounts can increase the likelihood of side effects like diarrhea. I encountered this issue during the first two days, but it was tolerable and not accompanied by any stomach pain. Afterwards, the diarrhea would reoccur sporadically, but it always remained free of discomfort.
- The whitening effect on your skin, particularly targeting age spots and freckles, is expected to become noticeable after 3 months of continuous usage, which I found to be somewhat prolonged considering the product’s price. I had anticipated more immediate results because of the number of active ingredients, but that was not the case at all.
FINAL THOUGHTS
There’s no harm in trying this one out. You just have to be patient with your desired results. I think I won’t repurchase. I’ll just take vitamin C instead. I’d like to know your thoughts on this product.

Hello. Sorry for the late response. Been busy. I wish I could give you an accurate response but it’s beyond my knowledge. But based on experience, it didn’t affect my appetite when I stopped taking this. Hope that helps.
