Review: VT Cica Mild Foam Cleanser

While browsing my local drugstore for a new face wash brand, the VT Cica Mild Foam Cleanser stood out to me not only because of its packaging size but also because I’ve heard numerous positive remarks about products containing cica. After consistently using it for over 2 months, here’s my honest review.

Features

The VT Cica Mild Foam Cleanser offers a gentle yet effective cleansing experience, efficiently eliminating dirt from pores. Impressively, it even removes makeup seamlessly, negating the need for double cleansing.

Packaging:

Design: It comes in a sleek tube with minimalist but eye-catching graphics.

Practicality: The flip cap ensures that there’s no mess and it’s travel-friendly.

Texture and Scent:

Texture: The cleanser has a creamy texture that lathers up well.

Scent: It has a mild, pleasant scent that isn’t overpowering.

Ingredients:

It boasts a blend of six distinct herbal ingredients.

  1. Cicahyalon™: It combats skin roughness and provides essential hydration.
  2. Greenol: It contains a potent blend of lavender, bergamot leaf, peppermint leaf, freesia, chamomile flower, and rosemary leaf extracts, all synergistically working to refine and smooth the skin.
  3. Centella Asiatica Extract: Commonly known as “Cica”, this is a staple in many skincare products designed for soothing. It’s known for its anti-inflammatory properties, helping to calm sensitive and irritated skin.
  4. Propolis Extract: This can help to hydrate the skin and retain moisture.
  5. Triple Hyaluronic Acid: A formulation that combines three different molecular weights (sizes) of hyaluronic acid. Each size of hyaluronic acid penetrates the skin to a different depth, providing a layered approach to hydration.
  6. Centella 4x Complex: Refers to a specialized formulation encompassing four unique compounds or extracts sourced from Centella Asiatica, each targeting various skin conditions.

Performance:

Efficacy: It effectively removes dirt and sebum without stripping the skin.

After-feel: After rinsing, my skin feels soft and not overly dry.

Moisturizing Capabilities: It does moisturize my skin.

Soothing Capabilities: I haven’t observed any notable reduction in the redness on my cheeks.

How to use VT Cica Mild Foam Cleanser:

Gently squeeze a suitable amount onto your palm. Add water and work into a rich lather. Massage the foam over your face in circular motions. Rinse thoroughly using lukewarm water for the best results.

Every week, I incorporate a facial brush when using it. My skin feels refreshingly clean and rejuvenated afterwards.

Value for Money:

Price: 1,815 yen for 300ml.

Quantity vs. Usage: A little goes a long way; a single tube has lasted me over two months and I don’t anticipate needing a replacement anytime soon.

Pros

  1. Gentle on the skin.
  2. Cleanses without causing dryness.
  3. Doesn’t trigger acne.
  4. Reasonably priced for the quantity.

Cons

  1. It doesn’t fully remove makeup on its own. I supplement with a makeup remover which works perfectly for me.
  2. The scent might not be for everyone.
  3. Available only in selected stores. If you’re outside of Japan, consider shopping on Amazon or other reputable Asian online retailers.

Overall, the VT Cica Mild Foam Cleanser delivers on its claims impressively. While you may need an extra wash or a makeup remover to remove makeup thoroughly, this minor point isn’t a major concern for me. I would recommend it to those with sensitive skin looking for a mild cleanser.
